Upscale image

Make a small image bigger and sharper with AI that runs on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Drop an image

Runs on your device with on-device AI. Your images are never uploaded.

Scale

How it works

  1. Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP image onto the page, or choose one from your device.
  2. Choose how much larger: 2×, or 4× on devices that support it. The first time, the AI model downloads and is cached for next time.
  3. Compare before and after, then download the PNG.

Questions

Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The AI model runs in your browser, on your device. Your image never leaves your device and is never sent to a server.
Why does it download a model the first time?
The AI model is about 5 MB, and the engine that runs it about 14 MB. Both are downloaded once and cached in your browser, so later visits start straight away. The download contains none of your data.
Why is 4× not offered on my device?
A 4× image has four times as many pixels as a 2× one and needs much more memory, so 4× is not offered on phones or on devices with less than 8 GB of memory. 2× is offered whenever the tool can run.
Will it add real detail?
It adds believable detail, which makes edges and textures look cleaner. It cannot recover what was never in the photo, so very small or blurry images improve less.
Is there a size limit?
The upscaled image is capped at 16 megapixels. If your image is too large for that, we tell you, and suggest 2×. Large images can take a while on older devices.
